Alumni Appeal aims to raise $140,000 to support educational initiatives

Two initiatives that have the potential to transform the lives of children and young adults will be supported by this year’s Alumni Appeal.

The Early Start Discovery Space has a mission to ensure that all young children, their families and communities have the opportunity to get the best start in life and be the best they can be while the Learning and Development Scholarship Fund helps students who might be experiencing financial difficulty continue their university education. These two schemes will be supported by UOW graduates who are keen to give back through the 2014 Alumni Appeal.

The appeal is seeking to raise a total of $140,000 with $90,000 going toward the scholarship fund and $50,000 to Early Start.

“It is vital that we help our students and children realise their potential by supporting them as much as possible now,” Brad Weekly, Development Manager with the Office of Advancement, said.

“These young minds will be our next generation of leaders so it is important that we do not fail them.”

The campaign will run until 3 April.
